Heraclea – tote bag

1.800 ден

Practical shoulder bag with designed embroidery on one element of the border of the narthex of the early Christian mosaic of the Great Basilica, at the ancient archeological site Heraclea Lyncestis, in the vicinity of Bitola.
Heraclea, the capital of Linkestida, an area in Upper Macedonia, near Bitola, is one of the most important cities of ancient Macedonia. Its foundation is associated with Philip II, in the middle of the 4th century BC. The most significant development of the mosaic in Heraclea is the fifth and the first half of the sixth century, i.e. until the end of the period of Justinian I.
The arrangement of the swans towards each other is a free interpretation in our design. As part of the border represented by only aquatic animals, the embroidery uses light blue and dark blue tones, shades of white, plankton green and marble red.
